Public transport
The train
For rail travelers, the railway station of Ostend can be reached with direct lines from several Belgian cities. Click on nmbs for detailed information on time tables and fares.
The coastal tram
The fastest way to get to Ostend from Bredene (about 8 km) is by taking the coastal tram. This tram deserves its name by connecting all the Belgian coastal towns. During the high season, a tram leaves for Bredene about every 10 minutes; outside the season this is every 20 minutes. For more information, have a look at the coastal tram. At the tram stop ‘Renbaan’, take the steps down until you arrive in the pedestrian subway. Here you turn left (to the right lies the beach) and outside the subway immediately to the right. You follow this path until you come to the end of a dead end street, here you turn left and descend down the road until you reach the ‘Visserskapel’. Here you turn right into the ‘Kapellestraat,’ the first street on your left is the ‘Koningin Astridlaan’. Camping and caravan site ‘Veld & Duin’ is the first camping on your left hand.
